Do l need to put moisture barrier (paper) down first? Home Depot has a gel
form of the paper. You spread it on the floor first.l have 4 differentfrom
4 different tile contractors. This a single level home located in
Riverside County of Southern CA which is quite dry.l am told this is not
needed for porcelean tile compared to Travertine which is stone. Please
send answer directly to my email if possible. teamconsultant.com
I do not know what a moisture barrier is going to do. you are
setting mortar on mortar then tile. So if there was moisture where is it
going to go. ??
First, etch the concrete with a solution of weak muriatic acid
to give the concrete some ''tooth''.
Then, mix the thinset with the ''milk'' latex bonding additive and you
will have no problems. Use a trowel that has very large notches.
No, however, i would use a bonding agent in the thinset to help
avoid shifting, that is all.
you will not need any moisture barrier.
